Midland Software

I don't know much about the origins of Midland Software (now MidlandHR).  

What I do know is that Midland's founder worked at Peterborough Software.

I've worked at both companies.  When I worked at Peterborough Software there was a framed cartoon on the wall of an office which depicted people carrying a banner that said "We hate Midland Software" - I didn't (and still don't fully) understand the reasons at the time.

When I later worked at Midland one of the old hands told me a story (which I won't repeat) about the rivalry which (if true) reflected badly on Peterborough Software.

There seems to be bad blood here, it's probably best forgotten (it is ages ago), but it's remarkable to me that it's still talked about.
